Taylor was born in Buffalo, New York and earned his bachelors degree from Niagara University while serving in the U.S. Army National Guard. As a signal corps officer he was exposed to the most advanced military computers and electronics, which ignited his passion for technology and helped develop the vision for his legal career.

After relocating to Florida in 2013, he attended Stetson University College of Law where he served as an associate justice of the Moot Court Board, winning national competitions and awards. After law school, Taylor went to Washington D.C. to clerk for the Honorable Michael P. Allen at the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. There, he assisted the Judge in resolving the appeals of US military veterans' disability compensation benefits claims.

Upon returning to Florida, Taylor began his civil litigation practice with a large national defense firm located in downtown Tampa. He spent several years developing his craft while defending large corporations and insurance companies, gaining extensive trial experience along the way. He has defended cases ranging from a few hundred bucks to millions of dollars. In 2021, Taylor began his own legal path by founding Taylor Ryan Legal, a modern tech-forward approach to the practice of law.
